• Payments for the SRD grant are not made on a fixed date, but within a specified range during the last week of the month. 
  September 2025: Payments were scheduled to be processed between September 25 and September 29.
  October 2025: Payments will start in the first week and continue until the end of the month, with beneficiaries advised to check their status online.

  Online method
  Navigate to the official SASSA SRD website: srd.sassa.gov.za.
  Enter your South African ID number and the cellphone number you used for the application.
  Click "Check Status" to see your application status and payment details. 
  WhatsApp method
  Save the official SASSA number: 082 046 8553.
  Send a message saying "SASSA" to the number.
  Reply with "Status Check" and follow the prompts to get your application status. 
  SMS method
  Open your messaging app.
  Send an SMS with the word "STATUS" followed by your ID number to 32555. 
  Phone call method
  Call the SASSA toll-free number at 0800 60 10 11.
