I spend less than an hour communicating by email. I check my email often but only to communicate with my professors and directors of the youth in college program everyday. An organization can suffer badly from poor email communications causing them to lose customers, vendors, distributors, etc. When running an organization you have to be easily available showing that you are reliable and professional. For example if a customer had an issue with a product and emailed you about it at 11am they would be expecting a response by the end of the day. If you don't reply in a timely matter your customer will think that you don't find them or their problem important and they will take their business elsewhere.
