An active voice is a clear choice for a variety of contexts but not all.  A passive voice allows the writer to avoid personal references or personal pronouns to create a more objective tone. Business communication resources tend to recommend active voice as a preference.

Active voice is the clear choice for a variety of context. The passive voice does not place blame or credit. It is the more diplomatic approach. Passive voice allows the writer to avoid personal reference or personal pronouns ( he, she, they) to create a more objective tone. The preferred style in business communication resources is the active voice.
