Great job Shari!! Just as I mentioned in Shanna's post, you have done an excellent job in your comparison of persuasion and charisma. You stated that personality is a huge part of business communication. I totally agree. The analogy you used concerning bringing new ideas to the company happens everyday in our organization. Have you noticed that the people addressing the audience in these instances typically have bubbly personalities and can keep the audience attention?

Your examples of charismatic speakers are also on point! President Barack Obama is the epitome of charisma. He motivated an entire nation with three words, "Yes We Can", and he continues to motivate audiences. You brought attention to T. D. Jakes and the duality of his personality. Again, I have taught this class several times and T. D. Jakes has not been mentioned. I love your insight into his personality and you are exactly right!

Keep up the good work!

Thank you. I love big personalities. Td Jakes and Barak Obama are great examples of inspirational leaders with charisma. Persuasion and charisma go hand in hand. Personality draws people in and gathers their attention, The Potter's House has a huge crowd every Sunday. Td Jakes has millions of viewers that look to him for inspiration and uplifting. He is a pastor, but he is funny and captivating.

Having good characteristics in business communication is very important. Two of the characteristics are persuasion and charisma. Persuasion is when an individual tries to convince one or more people to agree with something. Persuasion is important because when communicating in the business world, you may have an idea that you would like to share with your co-workers or your team. You must persuade them to agree with your idea, so having good reasoning will really work. Charisma is also important. Having charisma can really charm an audience into agreeing to your idea that you have. Persuasion and charisma both are alike because they help an individual become very successful in business communication.

One individual that has persuasion skills is Eminem. I know he is a rapper, but basically they are speakers with music. Eminem is a rapper who raps about his opinions and ideas. His persuasion and charisma really convinces the listener to agree with him. Another person with these characteristics is Jesse Williams. Jesse Williams is an activist. He made a very well known speech at the 2016 BET Awards. He was very charismatic during his speech. His persuasion was  very effective due to his body language and his projection.

Shari, I agree with your two individuals. Obama's charisma has something to do with his deliverance in his speech. His projects his voice very loudly and he takes pauses which makes his ideas and opinions sound better to the audience.

Shanna, you really made a good point about body language because if an individual is standing till during a speech, the audience will not be interested an they will not agree to what is being told them.
