How many hours do you spend communicating by email every day? Most of us would answer, "Too many!"  Will your organization suffer from poor email communications? Why or why not? Provide examples.

Yes, too many LOL! Now a days, I think any organization would suffer a little from poor email communication. I know at my job now email is "VERY" important. In my current position, I send out invoices to customers for scrap pick up. I get email reports on what was picked up for the month. If I don't check or correspond with my emails, customers won't get invoiced on time. Then we will be missing money or receive late payments. I have to communicate with customers to make sure I have the correct reports or my invoices will not add up right.

I spend too many hours communicating by email. I'm getting better by not using email majority of the time because many individuals don't use there emails. My organization would not suffer because I use email every day for business. There are some days I would forget to check my email but I would remember to check it . As I think about it, most organization don't use email to get business done. They would call other businesses by phone and do business over the phone instead of phone.

for example - Walmart doesn't do business via email. Walmart communicates through phone. Just like target, Lowe's , and other stores.

More than 40% of my day is checking or answering emails.  I tell people that I communicate better via email, because I can't always answer the phone and it will be there when I check them.  In this day and age because I have become so depended upon emails for communication my organization would suffer.  The amount of performances that we are engaged in over the course of a year I would be lost if I couldn't go back and read some of those details of the performance. Because of the popularity of the program people often like to book us months in advance, so I often forget and have to go back to the email.  If not I can potentially miss a performance.

Sherita N. Tuck I have done everything from sending invoices with the wrong dates to the wrong amount. I had to make sure I read and re-read my emails before sending them out, and I still miss things occasionally.
