Discuss the difference between active voice and passive voice.

Which of these is the preferred style by business communication resources?

(20pts)
Amber's answers

Active voice is a clear choice for a variety of contexts, but not all. It deemphasizes the doer of the action. It is shorter and more precise. Passive voice is where the subject receives the action. It allows the writer to avoid personal references or personal pronouns. Business communication recommend active style.

Share what you have learned from this course and how it has helped you both personally and

professionally in the area of communication.  (150 WORDS MINIMUM)

(20pts)
Amber's answers

According to the text, "communication is an activity, skill, and art that incorporates lessons learned across a wide spectrum of human knowledge." Communication can improve with if individuals apply time and effort. It is also important to consider our audience. Communication can also be verbal and non verbal.  We can prepare ourselves to excel in the workplace and socially by simply having an open mind. Embracing cultural, socio-economic, and value differences can only be beneficial. You have the opportunity to learn, share, and collaborate with people that could yield positive results. I have experienced this when working on many projects in work and school. I know that if I had not been in that environment different to what I was accustomed to, I would not view the world with optimism. These skills along with personal experiences will enable me to be an effective communicator in my personal and in the professional world.
